The Sweet Livin’ Method

We're not here to follow old trends—we're here to make them better (citation: Darwin, Charles).

Stanislavski developed his famous acting system in the early 1900s. Wow! That's a long time ago. Strasberg honed that system into the Method in the mid-20th century. Wow! That's still a long time ago.

As great as the Method is, Stanislavski was born in 1863. Should we still be commuting to work in our horse & buggy instead of our car? Should we be leeching ourselves when we wake up each morning to have a healthy start to our day instead of taking our Vitamin C supplement? Should we be putting lead-based paint and asbestos back into our homes? Of course not. That would be dangerous and absurd. That's why we have introduced something safe and absurd: The Sweet Livin' Method. It is the modern, "more-advanced" (citation pending) method of performance suitable to the scientific and societal advances of the 21st century.

Why read a book like An Actor Prepares when reading is such a second-millennium activity? Instead watch the new Sweet Livin' Method YouTube videos, the preferred reading method of the new millennium.

Chapter 1:

A Performer Prepares……..

Whether underperforming onstage, at work, or in the bedroom, this video will help you prepare in ways never discussed in stage notes, your job description, or the side of a Viagra bottle.

Locksmiths and vocal coaches are expensive. They also take up a lot of your time. Save time and money by unlocking your vocal chords, but not necessarily your apartment, with the key lessons discussed here. Sometimes success is only a pun, short video, or years of hard work away.

Chapter 2:

The Sweet Key………………….

Chapter 3:

Activating Your Inner Sweet Livin’………………………

Activation charges for cellphones, internet, and prepaid gift cards can be some of the hidden charges that drain our cash reserves. Fix your finances while fixing your performance by activating your inner Sweet Livin’: it’s sweet and free. No hidden charges, only hidden wisdom (when you find the hidden wisdom, please let us know).

Chapter 4:

Dreams…………………………….

Recently, dream readers haven’t been nearly as accurate as their heyday back in the biblical days and other ancient times. Besides, we all know reading is out of fashion. And if nowadays most kids are reading below grade level, the same probably holds true for dream readers. But why should we obsess over reading dreams, when we can write them and make them reality? Perform your own dreams with this dreamy chapter.

Chapter 5:

Energy…………………………….

Society is addicted to coffee—and rightly so: coffee tastes good and gives us energy, which performers need. But sometimes people get so carried away with the bean and the roast and the blah, blah, blah that they forget about the mug they are drinking the coffee out of. You wouldn’t drink spring water out of a horse’s trough—unless you were a horse. But most of our Sweet Livin’ Method users are not horses. Get your energy for performance from the right source (Chapter 5) using the right vehicle (a Sweet Livin’ mug) to enter it into your performance.

Chapter 6:

Visualization…………………….

Cataract surgery can be costly, especially if you are paying out of pocket. Many performers are hampered by metaphorical cataracts that hamstring their ability to see what their performance really needs to be, where it needs to go. Fortunately, metaphorical cataracts are free to remove: you just need to read (i.e., watch) Chapter 6.
