On the heels of Valentine’s Day, it is appropriate that we feature a more traditional love song than the Thug Luv from last Friday when 2Pac Friday fell on Friday the 13th while also being just a day away from Valentine’s Day.

“Do for Love” is not without its drama, if you listen to the lyrics, but many love songs of course feature the rollercoaster ride that love brings us on. This featured track has a lovely, beautiful feel emblematic of more traditional love songs.

We can look under the hood of “Do for Love” and see a little drama in its making when we consider this song features Eric Williams, of BLACKstreet & “No Diggity” fame, which, with Dr. Dre providing the opening verse on “No Diggity,” 2Pac would ironically attack with “Toss It Up,” originally attempting to sample “No Diggity” to toss up some drama before being issued a cease and desist order that forced a change in production on “Toss It Up,” posthumously released on The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory under the alias Makaveli. But this posthumous track, this week’s featured track, released under 2Pac, contains nothing but love and is titled “Do for Love.”
